The Story of BizEMoms
BizEMoms started as a little idea that quickly grew to something so much more. Laura had met her business up-line at a small networking event in the West Valley and thought it would be possible replicate the idea in the East Valley. So, she published a posting on a moms’ website asking if anyone else was interested in joining together and promoting their businesses. Sure enough, eight moms, including Angie, responded and met up a short time later. The idea was simple: promote our businesses while still being able to care for our families. You see, many of our companies offered great training however; we were missing out on it in order to be with our families. We have all heard the mantra, short-term sacrifice for long term gain. But when it comes to the guilt you feel as a mother, it is hardly an easy decision to make. Wouldn’t it be great if we could share ideas that worked for us with others like us? Once this little group got started, the ideas kept flowing, and the possibilities of what we could accomplish started coming together. We began first meeting at each others’ homes monthly, and in the beginning, did not even have a name. When the suggestion BizEMoms came up- it was just perfect! Together, our busy moms created BizEMoms! Soon others started hearing about us through our first events, such as Tamara, or referrals from other members. Soon after, we received even more membership inquiries, including men as well as parents to four legged babies. It does not matter if you are a woman or a man, a parent or not, because we all have the same goal - promoting our businesses without having to sacrifice what is truly important to us.
What eventually became the BizEMoms of today is a collaboration of all of our members’ efforts during the first two years. Even today, we remain open to feedback, suggestions, and great ideas. This “little group” has grown and received some very positive attention. We know how much we can do not only for each other, but for our businesses, our clients, and our community. We have a great mix of members and businesses and have found that working together…works!
